The American Dream: The American Dream recounts the journey to manhood of two best friends Luis (Jamil Walker Smith – SGU Stargate Universe) and Ronald (Malcolm Goodwin – American Gangster) who enlisted in the Marine Corps together in hopes to live out their personal dreams, Luis as a filmmaker and Ronald a travelling family man. During the last 36 hours before being shipped off to Afghanistan, they videotape the events, family, friends and the places they call home, in order to keep them forever grounded in their Los Angeles roots. Capturing every moment they can on camera, all the way up to their darkest hour, these young men realize that their dreams and promises of a new life mean nothing in War.
